The trainer at hand allows you to mess with the hack timer and use it much more freely, which should come in handy during some missions. Granted, it really depends on your attitude as well, because nothing stops you from simply trying to defeat everyone on open field. Hence, guerilla warfare is your main tool, which means that you must resort to all sorts of tricks and ambushes in order to come out victorious from most encounters. Given the theme of the game, the way you go about fighting enemies is a bit different, because you play as the rebel trying to overthrow a tyranny.
Other than that, this is pretty much a straightforward shooter with some sci-fi elements added to the mix. Thus, you are far more likely to be immersed in the world and the story, especially since you are not usually forced to go places, unless of course you undertake missions. The first major difference is the fact that the world is open to exploration, much like in titles such as Far Cry. This second entry is a tad different, on the other hand. In case you are not aware, The Revolution is actually the second entry in the Homefront series, the first one of which came out in 2011, and it didn't really blow anyone out of the water.
Homefront: The Revolution is a first-person shooter sporting an open world and a focus on action, which depicts an alternate history line where the US is invaded and occupied by the enemy.
